Each Cloudsmith identity has one or more associated profiles. A primary use of profiles is to allow publishers of configurations to communicate information about themselves to other users. Each identity has an associated default profile. An editable default profile is created by Cloudsmith when an identity is created. Users may create additional profiles as needed. (Currently, there is no limit on the number or profiles a user may maintain.) |
By assigning a profile to a given publishing space, the user can choose the profile that will be used to identify the "publisher" of configurations published in that space (the default profile is used when the space is created; a new profile can then be substituted). The default profile is used to identify the user elsewhere on the Cloudsmith site. |
|
In addition to identifying and descriptive information, each profile has two associated images. The first image represents the publisher. The second is used in a splash-screen that will be displayed during materialization of distros created by the publisher. (This image is displayed after the Materialization Wizard has been configured and before the wizard starts.) Defaults are provided for publishers who do not supply their own images. |
Transparency is supported for images in ".PNG" format. Images are show on white background. For best results, identification images should be 64 pixels square, while splash images should be 337 pixels (width) by 78 pixels (height). Images of other dimensions will be proportionately scaled to fit. After scaling, an image is placed against a white background. |
|
Profiles are added under "Settings." Enter the name of the desired profile and click "Add Profile." Then replace default images with your own. |
"Profile Text", and any information provided by "more info" links, is used to identify the publisher to other users. "Profile Name" is only used as a selection label, and is never visible to other users. |
