About

Dragonfly is an Eclipse-based development tool for the "build your own gadget" kit from BUG Lab. Dragonfly has been published as a Cloudsmith distro.

This live example shows how Cloudsmith can materialize (download & assemble) the Dragonfly distro with just a few clicks.

Benefits

Dragonfly is made up of only a few components, but they depend in turn on other components that may or may not be present in Eclipse. To get Dragonfly the conventional way, you have to find, download and install each component one-by-one. This isn't necessarily easy, even though Dragonfly is a pretty nicely packaged product.

When you get Dragonfly as a Cloudsmith distro, you simply click on the link and follow the wizard. If you're an Eclipse user, you can materialize the Dragonfly plug-ins directly into your Eclipse IDE, or even get the latest version of Eclipse at the same time. It's fast, easy and repeatable.

Next

After you've completed the example, you can check to see if everything materialized correctly.

Then, go to step 2 MAKE to try creating a simple distro of your own.

Click the button to start the download wizard.

Step through the wizard pages by selecting NEXT or FINISH and leave the default settings on each page.

Hint: select Eclipe as your target platform in the wizard (and make sure you have version 3.3 installed).
