Cloudsmith - 1-2-3-4 ADD

About

When you want to include something Cloudsmith doesn't know about in a distro, you can add it to the map.

In this example, we'll map a new component, Eclipse Buckminster. This component was actually required by the distro created in the MAKE example, but it came with the component we added (Spaces) and wasn't directly accessible in the map. In this example, we'll show you how to add it.

Benefits

By mapping Buckminster (or, more precisely, adding its metadata to the map), we're making it possible to work with Buckminster directly, rather than through another component. This means you can create new distros that include it, pick a specific version to include or just see how it relates to other components already in the map.

Next

You've now covered the basic Cloudsmith 1-2-3: getting a distro; making a distro; and adding new distro building blocks to the map.

As a final step, you may also want to try refactoring and republishing the distro from the MAKE example, so that another component is included in the distro.

Or you may want to get some ideas by reading how others are using Cloudsmith.

NOTE: you need to be signed in to run this example.

Once you are signed in follow the displayed instructions.
